Full Dentures

Full dentures, designed to replace all missing teeth in the upper or lower jaw, are removable appliances supported by the gums and palate. At Active Denture Clinic, our team works closely with patients, encouraging input to enhance the denture's cosmetic and functional aspects. Each full denture is custom-crafted for a tailored solution, from colour and tooth arrangement to lip support.

Individualised Partial Dentures

Partial dentures replace missing teeth where only some of the patient's natural teeth are absent. These dentures are custom-designed to match the patient's unique oral aesthetics, function, and fit. There are two main types:

Cast Chrome Cobalt Partial Dentures: These are considered a more permanent option compared to acrylic partial dentures. They are thinner, stronger, and less bulky.

Acrylic Partial Dentures: These have a base made entirely of plastic-like, high-grade dental acrylic. While less expensive and considered a temporary solution, acrylic partials are not as comfortable or strong as chrome cobalt dentures.

Immediate Dentures

It's advisable to preserve your natural teeth whenever possible, but there are situations where they may cause more harm than good. In such cases, extraction followed by immediate denture placement may be necessary. This involves taking an impression before the extractions to construct a denture, which is then placed immediately after the teeth are removed. Healing time varies from 3 to 12 months, during which the denture may require adjustments due to gum and bone shrinkage. Temporary softliners can help maintain fit and function during this period. After the initial healing, a reline or rebase may be needed to adapt the denture to changes in the oral landscape.

Reline and Rebase

As your gums change over time, your denture's fit and function may be affected. To maintain proper fit, a denture reline may be necessary. This involves taking a new impression and replacing the tissue side/fitting surface of your existing denture with new dental acrylic, improving fit without altering appearance. Our process involves:

  • Taking a new impression.
  • Cutting away the existing tissue side.
  • Replacing it with new dental acrylic.

This maintains the appearance of the denture while improving fit and function.

Comfortable Soft Liners

A soft liner is a layer of soft material bonded to the hard surface of a denture, providing cushioning between the denture base and gums. It maximizes retention by adapting to undercuts in the bone and gum, which hard liners may irritate. Soft liners offer greater retention by conforming to these undercuts, enhancing stability compared to hard liners. In some cases, soft liners can be added to existing dentures.

Efficient Repairs and Modifications

For broken dentures, trust our skilled team for prompt and professional repairs. Attempting self-repairs with glue is not recommended, as industrial adhesives are toxic. Most repairs can be completed the same day, and we can assess your denture for additional modifications or additions at no cost.

At Active Denture Clinic, we prioritise your comfort and satisfaction, delivering denture services that cater to your unique needs.
